about

Dayton, OH's Imbroglio release their first new track in five years, titled “Domestic Terror,” which is inspired by the current state of the world, and particularly recent events within the United States. The track is available for a pay-what-you-can price, with all proceeds going toward Black Lives Matter and various bailout fund organizations.

Imbroglio is now at the helm of sole member Darrell J. Gilbert Jr, who states that this project has never been politically focused nor has it ever catered to a specific crowd. However, “Domestic Terror” is a direct response to witnessing live streams from holding sites at Justice Centres of his friends and peers being detained.

Gilbert comments:

“I am beyond infuriated with the current state of our law enforcement, and that racial profiling even still exists. I am disgusted by our leader of this nation, and his actions. This is my way of giving back to those who have died from racial brutality. It is 2020, and we are still fighting for equality? The system has failed, and I am glad to see people no longer being silent. This song is truly a direct extension of my opinion of this tyrant, and the pigs that are in the streets causing more chaos than innocent peaceful protesters.”

The aggression that comes through on “Domestic Terror” is palpable, complementing Imbroglio's distinctly abrasive sound that combines grind, sludge and doom.

Gilbert elaborates further on the release's mission:

“This music is the only way I know how to help. This music was always supposed to save people. I hope it helps those in need during these times of tyranny, and I hope it becomes someone’s inspiration in the revolt of American citizens taking back their country.”

A new album from Imbroglio is slated for release in early fall of 2020.

The band has taken many shapes with lineup changes throughout the years. In 2015, Gilbert – who is Imbroglio's founder, primary songwriter, and producer – decided to dissolve the lineup to focus more on an electronic musical journey, called Peloquin. In those five years he took time to hone the skills to create music completely by himself with zero intentions of returning to the live setting. No rules, no boundaries, no compromise, and nothing to stand in the way of Imbroglio's progression. Taking new sonic shape in the digital frontier, the creative angular ideas started to take shape.

Five years since Imbroglio's last release, For What It’s Worth, the musical entity is now ready to release its next chapters. With Gilbert taking on all instrumental duties, programming and sequencing of percussion, as well as engineering the vision, it has only become more precise in execution.

Gilbert comments:

“Don’t get me wrong, there are times I miss having a band. But with today’s technology, and how I write, I think not having a band in the writing process has only benefited my fluid creativity. It’s important to keep the blade sharp, in order to top your previous efforts. To me this new material is very much a direct extension of myself, without others' approval or input. This project has always been mine. Everyone who came into this project knew that. I never intended to eventually do this on my own completely, but now I feel like it is exactly what it was always meant to be sonically.”

lyrics

No Justice. No Peace.

Indecent swine prey on the innocent until proven guilty.
A leader who's only agenda is clout of his fictitious dick size contest.
No consequence for your actions? The world will be ours soon enough. We are decent enough to fix it. You can't detain and silence us all.

They will suffer. He will suffer.
They make me wish that hell was real.

No Justice. No Peace.

You better stack us high and you better hope there is none of us left.
If there are then they will prevail. This future is ours friends.
Prepare for a civil war between the people, and the pigs.
No matter how violent or peaceful this world is ours.

(Complete revolt)

They make me wish that hell was real.

No Justice. No Peace.
